Anniversary
Careers in journalism and a fun feature article about a scrappy beekeeper led us (Laura and Jeff) to our current occupation of keeping bees and selling honey.
Though we sold our products at farmers markets for a couple of years, and rustled up our first Nashville customer, The Produce Place, we took The Leap when we went "to market" at AmericasMart in Atlanta in 2011. That was 10 years ago in January.
Sales weren't great, but meeting an editor from Cooking Light, and being featured in an editor's "top 10" article in the magazine that summer, gave us the validation we needed.
In 2014 we were a Martha Stewart "American Made" finalist, and in 2017 we moved the business from our home in Arrington, Tenn., to rural Eagleville, Tenn., where we have our bees and a small farm shop.
Now, our raw honey and all-natural beeswax products are available online and at independent groceries and boutiques all over the country.
